The Surgeon General has launched a new Call to Action on Walking and Walkability.  Studies show that there are multiple benefits to walking such as preventing and reducing chronic disease.  We are all being encouraged to simply walk–whether indoors at shopping centers or using an exercise video or getting outside and walking on safe sidewalks and trails.  We’ve been told to walk 150 minutes a week–that’s 30 minutes a day for 5 days–and we get to choose the days!  What’s your excuse for not walking?
