Studies show that nearly 18 million women aged 45-64 years in the United States are overdue for breast, cervical or colorectal cancer screenings!  Surveys collected from these women found that over 4 million were overdue for 2 of these screenings and 3 million were overdue for all the screenings.

Women cite insurance, access to care and not having a regular care provider as reasons for not participating in the screenings.

What to do:  If you are one of these women who isn’t up-to-date on your screenings, please set up an appointment with a health care provider for a general wellness exam and then ask questions about how, when and why you should have mammograms, colonoscopies and Pap smears.  Can’t get in until later this year?  Still, make the appointment and don’t cancel.
