Winneshiek County Public Health has received guidance regarding booster shots from the Iowa Department of Public Health for individuals who received Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines earlier this year.  Effective immediately, the CDC recommends that anyone 18 years and older receive a booster dose.  In addition, these groups should receive a booster dose:

  • people ages 50 and older
  • residents 18 years and older in long term care settings.

Also effective immediately, the CDC recommends people aged 18 years and older who received a single dose of the Johnson and Johnson (Janssen product) vaccine should receive a COVID-19 booster dose at least 2 months after the first dose.

Appointment dates and times continue to be on Wednesdays from 12pm—6 pm and Fridays from 8 am—3 pm.  Individuals may make appointments to receive these boosters by contacting Winneshiek County Public Health at 563-382-4662 or your local healthcare provider.

Additionally, a COVID clinic will be held for all ages on Thursday, December 23 from 8am–12 noon by appointment.

A walk-in COVID clinic will be held from 8am–12 noon on Wednesday, December 29 for all ages.
