Do you know your cholesterol numbers?  Do you know if you have high triglycerides?  What does all that mean anyways? Although our bodies do need some cholesterol to function, if we have too much in our system, it can lead to heart disease, heart attack and stroke.  According to the CDC, 71 million Americans have high cholesterol and since September is Cholesterol Education Month, it’s a good time to review what you can do to lower your cholesterol.  Lower your cholesterol by:

  • Knowing your numbers.  You need to be screened through a simple blood test to get a baseline and then set a goal.
  • Eat a healthy diet.
  • Exercise regularly.
  • Quit smoking.
  • Maintain a healthy weight.

No one said it would be easy but, it will be worth it.
