Colon cancer is affecting younger people at alarming rates.  The American Cancer Society now recommends screening for all adults should begin at age 45.  Symptoms often include: change in bowel habits, blood in or on the stool, abdominal pain and discomfort,  or weight loss.

Adults with a family history of colon cancer or with bowel disease should be tested sooner.

As always, talk with your doctor about your risk for colon cancer and follow his/her recommendations for screening.
