Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is now offered by our Reiki Master at Winneshiek County Public Health.
What is reiki? Reiki is an alternative medicine technique that has origins in Japan. Reiki uses healing energy that focus on the ‘chi’ and the energy centers of the body or the chakras. Reiki is non-invasive and individuals remain fully clothed and rest on a massage table. It is based on the idea that energy flows through all living things and if the energy is balanced and flows freely, we are more likely to feel well.
What happens during a reiki session? Our trained practitioner places lightly places hands on the body in specific positions. Most people report feeling warmth, calmness, and a sense of peace during a session. Sessions are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. Afterwards we talk about your experience.
